To promote public engagement, Will Fenton regularly presents the project to a range of audiences at a host of different platforms, including the American Studies Association, HASTAC, McNeil Center for Early American Studies, Modern Language Association, NYCDH, PhillyDH, Society of Early Americanists, and Philadelphia Archives Month. The project has been featured in the American Quarterly, Common-place, Education Week, Journal of Interactive Technology & Pedagogy, Philadelphia Inquirer, WHYY, and numerous other platforms.
In some instances, public engagement has made Digital Paxton more complete. For example, a collaboration with students and faculty at Shepherd and Loyola University enabled a new crowd-sourced transcription project, and a Spring 2017 exhibition at the Library Company of Philadelphia has been integrated into the project as a key historical framework.
