That the Indian Killbuck & his sone who came down on
A message to the Government, had delivered [to the government]
them ^at the State house in order to manifest our regard & friendship -

JonP. informed them that as they had delivered y' message to
the Governor, if they had any matter to comunicate to
us, we were ready to hear them -
Killbuck there said, that as he apprehended we [unintelligible] were all friends
and of one mind, he had spoke freely to the Governor what
he had on charge from his people - and that he was therefore
desirous of conversing with us in a friendly manner-
he was then told we were not concerned in affairs of
Government, but had a love & respect for the Indians wch
we were desirous of maintaining -
he then said he would now repeat the business he
was sent upon & had laid before the Governor which
was that his people were desirous that their Children
might be instructed as the Children of the White people,
whome he considered to be all friends & of one mind
and that the old people might also live in the same love
& friendship which formerly subsisted between our fore
fathers & be taught to live in the same manner by wch
means
& increase thus they should grow strong & learn to love
& worship the Great God Above.

when it was agreed he should come down with this
message & inform the Governor that the people were
desirous a deputation should be sent from them to the
Great King on the other side of the Waters to inform him of
