Thanks for your patience during our recent outage at scalar.usc.edu. While Scalar content is loading normally now, saving is still slow, and Scalar's 'additional metadata' features have been disabled, which may interfere with features like timelines and maps that depend on metadata. This also means that saving a page or media item will remove its additional metadata. If this occurs, you can use the 'All versions' link at the bottom of the page to restore the earlier version. We are continuing to troubleshoot, and will provide further updates as needed. Note that this only affects Scalar projects at scalar.usc.edu, and not those hosted elsewhere.

If I can trace the Dislike of some of my Hearers from any Thing, it is from this their Education. They have been taught to love Bishops, a Relict of Popery; and tho’ I do not act under one now, and do in my Heart not altogether join in with them, yet I see no Reason for their Hatred, seeing that I wrote to the Arch-Bishop of Canterbury, to get my Lord of London to License me in St. Paul’s, agreeable to their Minds, which his Lordship refused, and made it not my Fault. I cannot conceive what the People would be at; I am daily doing all the good I can; the other Day when nobody could do it, I silenced the Paxton Boys, and brought them over to Peace; and yet after all, even the Quakers abused me.---What will not these Roman-Catholick do to get me out of the Church; they want an Assistant to me, to force me out; but I hope the LORD will stand up for me, and enable me to fight his Battles.
